Felix Kjellberg, known as PewDiePie, stated that his era of video games is largely behind him. After more than a decade of creating gaming videos, he no longer sees games as a "valuable" way to spend time.

The 36-year-old blogger has focused in recent years on content about life in Japan with his wife Marzia and son Bjorn. Sometimes he plays light projects like GeoGuessr or Poppy Playtime, but 10-hour marathons are a thing of the past.

In a newsletter, Kjellberg noted that fatherhood completely changed his attitude to time:

Since I became a father, everything is valued differently. Every hour is precious. If I wanted to, there would be enough time for games. I just decided that it's better to do something else.

He added that he used to spend too much time on YouTube and games instead of developing other skills:

Now I have a different mindset — I want to learn. I don't have endless time, I just decided to spend it on what I consider valuable, and people's reaction confirms it.

PewDiePie is not quitting games completely: in 2025, he supported the Stop Killing Games movement, calling on developers not to shut down online games after the end of official support.
