Bioware went through difficult times in the period 2017–2019: Shadow Realms was canceled, and the failed Mass Effect: Andromeda and multiplayer Anthem were released. In the summer of 2025, the developers confirmed the closure of the latter game's servers in early 2026, which has long been discontinued.
