From a certain point of view, Denuvo isn't so bad after all.
Hacker Empress, formerly known as a Denuvo cracker, kept her promise and recently published a manifesto explaining the reason for leaving her "profession."
After my last release [a Denuvo game crack] in the summer of 2023, something unexpected happened. I suddenly started having serious health problems due to severe sleep deprivation and lack of rest, and I was directly told that if I didn't start fixing it immediately, it could end fatally for me. So I had to abruptly get off my hacker-making path and focus only on working on my own projects.
The hacker wanted to create a "universal system" for managing body proportions in video games, which would allow her to get rid of this "PLAGUE of \"skinny characters\"" (they disgust her).
Working on this tool further undermined her health, and at a certain point, she curtailed her activities and focused on "recovering herself."
In 2025, the hacker realized that she had already lost motivation to crack Denuvo, and also "saw the TRUTH."
As she claims, she then had a prototype of a "BRILLIANT", "absolutely BEST" Denuvo cracking system
Empress came to the realization that she was "feeding thieves and ungrateful lying ******** [bad people]", spending her time, energy, and health "rarely receiving due recognition or gratitude in return — only more complaints and no respect."
Empress also reminded that video games are "products of HARD WORK" and called for buying them.
In addition, the hacker believes that piracy is bad for mental health, so it is better not to contribute to it.
And in general, Denuvo (according to Empress) has positive aspects, for example, the DRM system does not allow "stupid peasants" to destroy and pollute games
