Until now, 120 FPS has only been available in 2D games such as Hades 2, with most 3D games not activating this mode.
On Switch 2, when connected to the dock, the game offers 4K and 1080p, where 4K is limited to 60 FPS, and 1080p reaches 120 FPS. During more than 12 hours of testing, the game ran almost stably at 120 FPS at 1080p resolution. Even minor dips only occurred when riding a motorcycle through open locations.
In portable mode, 120 FPS works roughly the same at 720p. Players can choose between 1080p at 60 FPS and 720p at 120 FPS. Choosing a higher frame rate does not affect texture quality, shadows, or level of detail, and also reduces input lag due to faster game logic and a doubled display refresh rate.
