Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 became the most nominated game in the history of The Game Awards. The main actors of the project — Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, and Jennifer English — are among the nominees for acting.
In an interview with VGC, actors Jennifer English and Alyona Baranova called for the addition of new categories, including an award for motion capture (mocap) work.
Baranova asked:
If I may, can I start a petition for a "mocap" category? It needs to be done. For decades, actors have been doing mocap, and then someone's voice is dubbed over, and these performers just disappear. No one knows about them.
Baranova was the mocap director in Baldur’s Gate 3, which also starred English, Nyx, and Wilde.
If there were a separate award, studios would share behind-the-scenes materials that people are really looking forward to.
The Game Awards will take place on December 12, 2025, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
