Modder and technician Modyfikator89 reported on X that the new version of the DualSense controller, CFI-ZCT2W, increases battery life.
It features a new BDM-060 board that provides longer playtime by removing components such as the additional microphone and optimizing the electronics.
You can check which model you have by looking for the CFI-ZCT2W marking on the bottom of the packaging. The new revision can be found in:
- all PS5 Pro bundles (CFI-7121);
- new PS5 Slim bundles (CFI-2116);
- special colored and themed controllers, such as the Icon Blue Special Edition and Ghost of Yōtei Gold Limited Edition.
Modyfikator89 also noted that Sony has removed the requirement for the PS5 to be connected to the internet to pair with the disc drive on new CFI-2100/2116 models and has integrated the PS5 Pro cooling system into the base console. The new cooling system improves stability and durability, preventing liquid metal leakage issues that affected the original PS5 and Slim CFI-2016.
