Fans are independently expanding the franchise.
Fans of Risen, created by Piranha Bytes, would like to see a new project in the franchise.
And a developer under the nickname Natsu has a proposal: he is developing an unofficial sequel to Risen called The Old Kingdom.
The RPGTemplate YouTube channel showcased a prototype of the game, which uses the Unreal Engine:
The plot will take players to the old continent, which has been almost completely devastated by war. Events will unfold in the surviving region, where deposits of special anti-magic crystals capable of suppressing the power of the titans have been discovered. An expedition arrives there, trying to find a way to regain control of the rest of the continent.
The Old Kingdom will be distributed for free. Natsu is currently looking for other modders who could help with the project.
