Players will have to look for the project elsewhere.
Recently, the BrownDust2 game page was completely removed from Steam. The release was originally scheduled for mid-December.
Now the developers have announced the cancellation of the Steam version release of BrownDust2. They did not change the content at Valve's request:
We have been preparing for the launch [on the Steam platform] for a long time, but in the process of agreeing with the requirements of its policy, we encountered a problem that cannot be correctly resolved within the current version of the game. After careful internal discussion, we decided not to [release the game on Steam]
The authors of the game will now look for opportunities to release it on other PC platforms that "can provide more comfortable conditions" for BrownDust2:
We considered several options to make the release [on Steam] possible, but, striving to maintain the direction of development and the overall quality of the game, we came to the conclusion that making the necessary changes at this time would be impractical.
BrownDust2 features a variety of characters and the design of some is very revealing.
