It seems the developers expected prestige leveling to take longer.
Escape from Tarkov has a "Prestige" system — upon reaching a certain level and fulfilling a number of conditions, players can start the game anew. They retain profile statistics, a small percentage of skills, and some items, and are rewarded with cosmetic content and various bonuses.
Recently, the fan community "Tarkov Metamovement" noted the achievement of streamer DesmondPilak — he was the first to receive the sixth prestige:
[...] Prior to this, Desmond was also the first to take the fifth Prestige. Despite the new requirements, including mandatory story progression, this did not prevent him from speedrunning the game again and breaking his previous record on release.
Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov also noticed DesmondPilak's achievement and reacted with a curse word.
It seems the creator expected the new conditions to make it difficult to obtain prestige and that it would take players longer, but DesmondPilak was able to quickly cope with the task.
