The game temporarily topped the list of bestsellers in the US, surpassing Call of Duty, which is a rare success for the EA franchise.
Analyst Rhys Elliott noted:
Battlefield 6 took first place, marking a grand return for the franchise. According to our data, the game already has over 26 million players (including the free-to-play REDSEC), and the base version has sold over 20 million copies. The growth was achieved thanks to attention to the wishes of the community and a return to the origins of the franchise.
EA has only officially confirmed that 7 million copies were sold in the first three days, making Battlefield 6 the second fastest-selling game of the year after Monster Hunter Wilds.
The Battlefield franchise, which had previously been losing ground in both sales and number of players, is now actively competing with the Activision series again.
