The online role-playing game market remains tough — this is well known to developers of such projects. The authors of one of the games of 2025 decided to change their strategy.
The project, previously known as Legacy: Steel & Sorcery, showed good results: in February, the peak online early access was 3698 people, and the total number of user ratings approached 3900 with an average score of 70%. Now the situation has changed — the online presence has decreased to 40 players, which has become a problem for the network project.
As a result, the Notorious Studios team went for changes. On January 21, 2026, the game will exit early access and be released under the new name Eldegarde. The project will try again to gain a foothold in the extraction-RPG market with the PvPvE formula. The segment remains relatively young and small, and one of the measures to attract new players will be the addition of a PvE mode without PvP battles.
