Attackers are trying to steal Steam accounts and more.
Recently, Kaspersky Lab drew attention to a new Stealka Trojan. Its target is Windows OS-based systems, and it steals various data, including information about crypto wallets and payment cards, logins, and passwords (Steam, Roblox, and more).
The Stealka Trojan disguises itself as pirated software and game modifications. Examples include mods for Roblox and Grand Theft Auto V. In addition, a "Half-Life 3 build" can be found online.
A malicious program is embedded in the files, which is then attempted to be spread further using the hacked accounts of victims.
Cybersecurity experts recommend:
- use antivirus software,
- do not store confidential information in browsers,
- be careful when using game cheats and mods,
- enable two-factor authentication or use backup codes wherever possible.
