RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Release Threatened by Rising Memory Prices

Rumors indicate that NVIDIA may temporarily or permanently suspend the release of the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB due to rising memory chip prices. This is reported by Board Channels.

The sharp increase in memory prices has forced Nvidia to revise its product strategy.

The 5060 Ti GB model is expensive to produce because it uses 8 GDDR7 memory modules. The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB remains a more affordable option, requiring only 4 memory modules.

The next best options for gamers will be the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti with 12GB and 16GB of VRAM respectively. NVIDIA's new approach will also help adjust the performance and price overlap between the 5060 Ti 16GB and 5070.

At the same time, the RTX 50 series based on the Blackwell architecture will continue to compete with the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070, which also have 16 GB of memory. Difficulties with the availability of the 5060 Ti 16 GB are already being observed due to memory shortages, and according to rumors, shipments of the entire RTX 50 series may decrease by 30–40% by the first half of 2026.
