The impact of the game extended far beyond video games. Shanxi Province, where many of the game locations are based, has seen a sharp increase in tourist traffic.

Qingping Gao, head of the Shanxi Provincial Tourism Organization, noted

The game's impressive popularity has extended beyond the online space and has become a real reason for tourists to visit.

According to him, online searches for "Shanxi tourism" increased by 3178% compared to last year, and page views related to the region exceeded 40 billion.

The Black Myth: Wukong exhibition, held at the Art Museum of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou from April to July 2025, was originally planned for 40 days but was extended to 108 due to record public interest. In three and a half months, it was visited by 450,000 people, about 80% of whom were under 18.
