Soon the developers will begin celebrating the anniversary of the franchise.
On December 31, the Diablo franchise will be 29 years old. Blizzard will celebrate this date with the traditional The Darkening of Tristram event.
Players will be offered to complete special tasks to receive unique transmogrification effects, achievements, portraits, pets and more:
By uncovering the secrets of the cultists, you'll soon find yourself in a stunning RetroVision world and a painfully familiar cathedral. As you explore its dungeons, you'll encounter familiar enemies and find legendary items, all recreated on the Diablo III engine. And deep beneath the catacombs, the Lord of Terror himself will be waiting for brave travelers who dare to challenge him…
The Darkening of Tristram event in Diablo III starts early next year. Cultists will arrive in Sanctuary on January 1 at 3:00 AM Moscow time, and the portal will open on January 4 at exactly the same time. Both parts of the event will end on February 1, 2026 at 3:00 AM Moscow time.
