Back in 2007, the board game Colosseum by game designers Wolfgang Kramer and Markus Lübke was released, set in the era of Ancient Rome. It was well-received by many gamers and gave people many memorable games, usually lasting 60–90 minutes.
Today it became known that the publishing house GaGa Games will release in Russia the board game Colosseum: The Grand Spectacle — a complete re-release of the above game with new illustrations, updated components, all the old content and a number of new additions — up to an expansion to six participants.
It is worth noting that on the crowdfunding platform Gamefound, Colosseum: The Grand Spectacle was able to raise almost 46 million rubles thanks to 3939 sponsors.
GaGa Games employees will most likely open pre-orders for it in mid-2026.
In this game, users will become organizers of gladiatorial fights and other events held in the Colosseum. They will have to earn money and glory, improve the arena's infrastructure, invite Roman consuls, ordinary residents of the city, and even the emperor to events, engage in trade, and delight viewers with memorable events.
