Publisher SOEDECO and developer Saikat Deb have announced the release date for The 9th Charnel, a new first-person psychological horror game. The game will be released on January 30, 2026 on PC in Steam, as well as on Xbox Series X|S and PS5.
The 9th Charnel is a survival horror game with an emphasis on atmosphere, combining stealth, combat and exploration. The game world is built in such a way that every shadow hides a threat, and every sound hints at an approaching danger.
The plot tells about Michael and his colleagues — Sarah Whitlock and Daniel J. Hart, geneticists from the Epsilon Research Institute. During fieldwork near a nature reserve, they find themselves trapped in a valley. Having lost contact with the team, Michael sets out to find his friends, but quickly plunges into a nightmare full of fanatical cults, forgotten rituals and sinister forces.
As the secrets of the valley are revealed, the struggle for survival becomes more and more desperate. Players will search for supplies, manage resources and make difficult decisions that affect the fate of the three scientists. Enemies can be avoided with stealth and cunning, but in critical moments you can use weapons.
