Last December, Russian developers presented a browser version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Soon, Take-Two's lawyers took notice of DosZone Team and sent the team a "letter of happiness."

After receiving the pre-DMCA (copyright infringement notice), the developers wrote:

Finally, what we've been waiting for since the release of the browser-based GTA Vice City has happened! We received an official pre-DMCA from TakeTwo\Rockstar. The letter has been printed and hung in a frame on the wall! We are now forced to shut down our project as prescribed. But we will definitely be back after removing all obstacles blocking its implementation. Thanks to this project, our team and DosZone have become known worldwide, and we still have something to surprise the audience watching us.

Now, enthusiasts have announced the revival of the browser-based GTA: Vice City:

"GTA Vice City in the browser is the reVCDos project. Our port made a big impression on the community and quickly established itself as a high-quality and in-demand project. Unfortunately, we received a DMCA notice and were forced to rework some of its parts."

You can still play reVCDos, but now "you need to provide more game data from the original game to launch it."
