Modder DeadpoolMKD recently released a trailer for the global modification Grand Theft Auto: Carcer City, which is being developed for GTA: San Andreas.
The idea of the project is to combine the world of the grim game Manhunt with the gameplay mechanics of the GTA franchise:
The action takes place in 2001. The mod offers a completely new storyline about a former police officer drawn into the criminal world of Carcer City, where industry is collapsing, [state] institutions are failing, gangs are seizing power, and survival is never guaranteed.
The release of the demo version of GTA: Carcer City is scheduled for March 9, 2026. However, there is a risk that the project will attract the attention of Take-Two lawyers and they will demand its closure.
