Splitgate has had a difficult few years: first, they stopped supporting the successful first part, and then the second game was released amidst scandals. The team "rebooted" Splitgate 2 under a new name, but this did not fix the situation.
Splitgate was once called the game that would "make shooters great again." After the release of the improved version on some platforms, only a few hundred people play simultaneously, there are almost no viewers on streams, and player ratings have fallen to a record low – 59% positive reviews.
On December 17, 2025, Studio 1047 Games released Splitgate: Arena Reloaded — a rebranding of Splitgate 2, which was originally released in June with a disappointing reception and a series of scandals. The reboot attracted a maximum of several thousand players on individual platforms, but interest quickly faded.
On Steam, 2,297 people played simultaneously on the day of release, and at the time of publication, only 541. On the Twitch platform, the number of viewers was 109 people, which is much lower than the peak of 138,110. Reviewers note: the concept of the game is good, but there are too few changes and it is already too late.
