Ubisoft officially announced Hexe in 2022. The project has been in development for several years as the next major game after Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Benoît Richer has been with Ubisoft since 2007, participating in Rainbow Six Vegas 2, then at WB Games Montreal he was the director of Batman: Arkham Origins, and after returning to Ubisoft in 2017, he played a key role in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
The narrative in Hexe is being overseen by Darby McDevitt, a series veteran, which reinforces the focus on the plot. Rumors suggest that the game may depart from the RPG structure of the recent installments, offering a more compact, atmospheric, and tense experience.
The exact release date is still unknown, but the project is expected within two years. Assassin’s Creed Hexe promises to be one of the most unusual games in the history of the franchise.
