ARC Raiders Head Defends AI: "It Helps Developers and Benefits Players"

ARC Raiders remains popular on Steam, even surpassing Battlefield 6, but has sparked a discussion about the ethics of using AI, for example, to generate character voices.
Patrick Söderlund, head of Embark Studios, explained:
I urge players and critics to take a step back and look at the big picture. AI doesn't replace people - we have 350 employees and voice actors.
According to him, the technology removes "boring, routine work" and speeds up processes: that's how The Finals was updated weekly, and ARC Raiders is developing dynamically. The use of speech synthesizers allows you to quickly change dialogues without inviting actors to the studio.
We pay actors for their voices, but AI allows us to update the game much faster.
Thanks to this, the game world reacts to changes almost in real time, which would be impossible with the traditional model.
I think people need to take a step back, look at it from the side and understand what it is capable of, and that it can be of great help to developers and, therefore, benefit players.
Söderlund added:
I can't imagine games being created automatically using artificial intelligence.
