ARC Raiders continues to surprise not only with its commercial success but also with its online design features. After weeks of rumors and community testing, Embark Studios CEO Patrick Söderlund has officially confirmed that player behavior influences matchmaking.
The system takes into account the player's level of aggression. Those who frequently attack others are placed in lobbies with similarly minded opponents. A more cautious style leads to less confrontational encounters, but unpredictability remains.
In addition to aggression, the player's skill level is also taken into account. Söderlund emphasized that the system combines several parameters, creating a dynamic gameplay experience focused on cooperation and tension, rather than pure competition.
ARC Raiders is a cooperative extraction shooter in a post-apocalyptic world where players collect resources, encounter ARC AI robots, and other people. Matchmaking allows the system to adapt to each player's play style, making each session unique.
