The massive role-playing game Dragon Quest VII will soon be released in an updated form. Square Enix reminded about the release with a demo version.
Starting January 7, the Dragon Quest VII Reimagined demo will be available on consoles and PC via Steam.
Progress from the demo version will carry over — after the full version is released, you can continue your playthrough. For completing the demo, players will receive a bonus "Day Off Dress" costume for Maribel, available in the full version of the game. This approach clearly demonstrates Square Enix's attitude toward the demo version format.
Dragon Quest VII is known for its large volume of content and is aimed at fans of long-form RPGs. Completing the original version on PS1 took about 80–120 hours.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be released on February 5, 2026, on PS5, XSX, Switch 2, Switch, and PC (Steam).
