Xbox Developer_Direct, scheduled for January 22, 2026, will be one of the key events for fans of the Fable series.
Playground Games studio, after remaining silent since June 2024, has confirmed its participation in the show. The developers noted that the time has come to show much more of the new project.
This is not about a short trailer. The authors used the phrasing "our first deep dive," which indicates a detailed presentation of the game systems, mechanics, and the world of Albion. This statement practically nullifies rumors about the release being pushed to 2027. Microsoft seems to be sticking to the original plan and expects to release the new Fable in 2026, making it one of the key releases of the year.
The mention of the first deep dive also provides a hint regarding the release window. The release is most likely to take place in the second half of 2026. September is being called the optimal window—this would allow avoiding direct competition with Grand Theft Auto 6, which is planned for November.
Details will become known in less than two weeks, when Playground Games takes players through the new fairytale world.
