New reports indicate significant changes in Microsoft's publishing strategy - the boundaries between platforms continue to blur.
According to journalist Andy Robinson from VGC, the new installment of Fable will be released on PlayStation 5 on the same day as on Xbox consoles. The source claims that Microsoft has long been preparing to expand its presence on the Sony platform, and this release will be one of the key steps in the company's new policy.
The situation is different with Forza Horizon 6. The game is also expected to be released on PS5, but probably not on the release day. It is reported that the version for the Sony console is not yet ready.
Among players, there is an opinion that a later release of the racing game on PS5 is a reasonable decision. Some of the audience believe that artificially delaying the Xbox version to synchronize with PlayStation would look disrespectful to users of the Microsoft platform. Others note that if both versions were delayed without explanation, most players would hardly know that the reason was the refinement of the port.
Such steps reinforce the opinion that Microsoft is increasingly perceived as a third-party publisher. The community notes that today it is more surprising to see a game not on a specific platform than its multi-platform release.
