Path of Exile 2 Player Increased Damage So Much That the Game Stopped Registering It

Players in Path of Exile 2 continue to experiment with various builds, trying to maximize damage. As it turned out, you can "overdo it" and make it so that it resets altogether.

A player with the nickname Swedge recently presented the results of his experiment - he managed to reach the "ceiling" of damage and break the system.

Swedge showed that if you deal more than 35.79 million damage per second, Path of Exile 2 will not register this damage.

It is assumed that this is due to a technical feature of the engine: in PoE 1, DoT damage (periodic) from the point of view of the game was calculated as "damage per minute."

The limit is 2,147,483,647 damage per minute (or 35.79 million when converted to "damage per second"). If this value exceeds the limit, an overflow will occur and the number will become negative.

At the moment of igniting the boss in PoE 2, the damage is higher than the limit and the game cannot register such a number, so the damage does not go through.

Swedge published information on building thisbuild, as well as its "budget" version in open access.
