Recently, the first "expedition" (voluntary wipe) was completed in Arc Raiders. The first players reset their progress and received various bonuses.

One of the controversial "bonuses" was skill points: 1 point was awarded for every million on the account (cash + stash value). Thus, you could earn up to 5 pieces.

Players actively criticized the developers, as this condition, which was announced at the end of the wipe, led to many running around with free or very cheap equipment - afraid of losing valuable items and missing the opportunity to get additional skill points.

Embark Studios heard the feedback from the Arc Raiders community:

One of the main topics [in the feedback] concerned the requirements for the final stage to obtain skill points, and we probably released this information too late because we wanted to wait until we could calibrate it to the real economy, rather than guessing at an early stage. So, when we chose the number - five million credits for 5 points - we set it as an ambitious goal that some players could achieve. But then, I think, many players took it as: "Well, now I have to do it to get them."

The developers plan to make changes to the system:

We recognize that simply farming money is not the most exciting activity, [and it] can lead to players avoiding using their equipment, which they usually strive for towards the end of the wipe cycle. So yes, we are thinking about changes.

The creator of Arc Raiders said that "just over a million players" completed the first expedition (i.e., did a wipe). Approximately 35-40% of them received all 5 skill points.
