Some fans are still waiting for a sequel.
Recently Square Enix once again reminded players of Nier: Automata. This year the project turns 9 years old and the publisher plans to celebrate the anniversary.
A special broadcast is scheduled for February 20, 2026, among the declared participants:
- creative director Yoko Taro;
- franchise producer Yosuke Saito;
- senior game designer Nier: Automata Takahisa Taura.
The special stream will consist of two parts: a public and a closed session, which will be available to subscribers of the Niconico Premium service.
Square Enix clarified: "there are no plans to disclose new information about the game", i.e. there will be no announcement of a sequel or other project.
