A Reddit user, referenced by @Haze2K1, reported that a firmware for the "BMG-G31" chip was found in the latest Intel driver package. The designation indicates preliminary support for a consumer graphics card based on it. This isn't the first such signal: mentions of BMG-G31 were previously found in VTune Profile, after which Intel quickly removed the traces.

The situation looks strange, considering that a year has passed since the release of the first Battlemage cards, and the lineup is still limited to the budget Arc B580 and Arc B570. A graphics card based on BMG-G31, presumably the Arc B770, seems like a necessary step for Intel to enter a higher segment. A noticeable increase in performance and 16 GB of video memory is expected - a capacity that will become the standard for new games in 2026.

The appearance of firmware in official drivers usually indicates a late stage of testing or readiness for production. It remains to be seen why Intel is delaying the announcement and what the price of the new product will be against the backdrop of rising memory and silicon costs.
