The company has not yet clarified its strategy for implementing FSR Redstone for older GPUs. At CES 2026, Andrei Zdravkovic from AMD stated that in the future, upscaling may work on RDNA 3 cards (RX 7000 series), but he did not give any guarantees.
It is now increasingly likely that RX 7000 owners will be left without support. As early as mid-2025, players found a way to "homemade" install FSR 4 on RX 7000 and even RX 6000. Despite the low performance on older cards, upscaling improves image stability compared to FSR 3 and could be in demand.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that NVIDIA is releasing DLSS 4.5 for older RTX series cards. Although the technology does not work perfectly, users at least get the possibility of upscaling.
