Battlefield 6 had a громкий launch, but over time interest in the shooter began to fade. After 3 months, the peak online from 740+ thousand dropped below 100 thousand.
This weekend, the peak of Battlefield 6 was almost 92 thousand, while another high-profile game — Baldur's Gate 3, online exceeded 111 thousand players (the full version was released in August 2023).
Earlier, the developers of Battlefield 6 announced a delay in the launch of the second season — if nothing changes again, it will start in mid-February.
Some players complain that before, when maps were distributed as premium DLC, they were released in larger quantities:
We went from 20 new maps a year to 2 maps every 3 months…When I first saw the transition from DLC to free maps as part of the seasons, I was thrilled — it meant that anyone could play on all the maps even after a couple of years, and it was amazing. And now to see that we only get a couple of maps every three months — the franchise and DICE have seriously sagged. They make more on the battle pass and cosmetics than they ever did on DLC, and yet we get less and less real [non-cosmetic] content for games… It's really sad.
