Code Vein II trailer features Zenon Griffgot and a surprise musical number
Bandai Namco has released a video dedicated entirely to a character described as a "heretical revenant/hero sentenced to ten thousand years of imprisonment."
Zenon appears as a deliberately theatrical figure. He invites players into his "Zen room," after which he begins a musical number. In the song, the character talks about wanting to move towards tomorrow "in a world covered in darkness," where "joy gradually disappears."
The trailer then transitions to gameplay. Zenon acts as an ally and offers tangible support in combat, including wide-ranging attacks and special abilities.
The character's image plays on the "dark knight" archetype: massive armor is decorated with elaborate details, and a digital face on the helmet allows for the transmission of emotions. It is also shown how Zenon summons demons, who initially appear as statues, then come to life and begin playing musical instruments, accompanying his song.
Code Vein II will be released on January 29 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
