According to Sensor Tower, the game reached this milestone in 1275 days, or approximately three and a half years, surpassing its closest competitor by more than a year.
Although Monopoly Go has only been on the market for 1014 days, the game generates about $200 million monthly. For comparison, Rockstar Games earns $150–200 million with Grand Theft Auto per quarter. Sensor Tower notes that in the ranking of revenue from in-game purchases on Google Play and the App Store, the Monopoly Go project ranks 14th among all mobile games.
Scopely continues to strengthen its position in the mobile gaming market, including the recent acquisition of Niantic, the creators of Pokemon Go.
