Bungie Delays Destiny 2 for New Marathon Shooter
The reason is simple: the studio's priority is the new Marathon shooter, scheduled for release on March 5. This clearly shows what the team is working on now.
The information was first confirmed by Paul Tassi of Forbes, a longtime observer and fan of Destiny. Bungie has not announced a new date. Shadow and Order was to be the last major update to Renegades with Pantheon 2.0 and reworked raid bosses. Players were expecting the conclusion of the Year of Prophecy and Guardian Games storylines.
Instead, a marketing campaign for Marathon will begin: those who pre-order will receive exclusive rewards for Destiny 2 — armor, ships, shaders, and themed emotes. Limited editions of the DualSense controller and Pulse Elite Wireless Headset in the Marathon style will also be available.
The question remains: how long will the community wait to return to Destiny 2 after a weak year, disappointing updates, and issues with the interface and grind?
