Fallout 3 and New Vegas Won't Be Released Suddenly. Journalist Reveals What's Known About Remakes
Remakes of Fallout 3 and New Vegas will not appear in the near future, although work on them is underway. According to Windows Central editor Jez Corden, the projects are not yet ready for release.
Previously, there were leaks about the remake of Fallout 3, and information about New Vegas became known recently. The popularity of the Fallout series and the success of the second season in the Mojave zone have increased interest in the franchise. Another studio project, Oblivion Remastered, also exceeded Bethesda's internal expectations.
Activity on the Fallout 3 and New Vegas pages on Steam is related to the update of localized versions, and not to the upcoming "shadow launch". It is assumed that Fallout 3 will be released before New Vegas.
Bethesda is now focused on Elder Scrolls VI and major Starfield updates, so the remakes' releases are delayed. In the short term, fans have access to Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition, Fallout 76 updates, and modifications like Fallout London.
According to preliminary data, the Fallout 3 remaster may be released in 2026 with updated graphics based on Unreal Engine, while retaining the classic Creation Engine and modern combat system improvements.
