Razer has introduced Project AVA - a compact cylindrical device with Chroma lighting and a 5.5-inch 3D holographic display, which shows an interactive assistant.

AVA is positioned as a "digital sidekick." The device is equipped with an HD camera with eye-tracking and far-field microphones, allowing it to recognize the environment, help plan the day, and provide advice on clothing choices and gaming strategies.

Users can choose one of several avatars with different personalities:

  • Kira — an e-girl style anime character, described as the cutest gaming partner;
  • Zane — a sporty tattooed character with a calm, tactical nature;
  • Faker — a hologram modeled after professional League of Legends player Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok;
  • SAO — a character inspired by Japanese office workers and focused on emotional connection with the user.

The use of Grok AI from xAI as the basis for Project AVA has caused the most controversy. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan stated that Grok was chosen because of its dialog capabilities and expressive "personality." He noted that the platform will be open and will allow the use of other language models in the future, including ChatGPT and Gemini.

Project AVA is in the conceptual stage. Razer is collecting feedback and refining security systems. The company plans to release it in the second half of 2026.
