Ubisoft recently announced the cancellation of the long-suffering remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
GOG reacted to this announcement with an announcement of an improved version of the game:
While the news about the cancellation of the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is a heavy blow and may disappoint many of us, it also provides an opportunity to remember the game that started it all. It's not just a "classic," but a true masterpiece that deserves to shine brighter than ever.
Work is underway to include the original Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in the GOG Preservation Program "as soon as possible" — it will work on modern PCs (and, judging by the announcement, will receive additional improvements):
