Playground Games Removed the Dog from Fable - The Team Is Still Angry
Fable fans should prepare for changes in the reboot from Playground Games. The developers have confirmed that the new installment in the series will not feature a dog - a beloved companion of players in Fable II and Fable III.
The four-legged companion will not appear alongside the main character, but the authors noted that players will be able to use horses. The decision to abandon the dog was made by the founder of Playground Games, Ralph Fulton. In an interview with IGN, he admitted that he personally insisted on removing the mechanic for reasons related to development.
Notably, this decision caused resistance within the studio. According to Fulton, a significant portion of the team still hasn't forgiven him for abandoning the companion.
Despite this, the developers assure that the new Fable will remain true to the spirit of the series. The game will focus on the player's freedom of action and the British atmosphere that was the hallmark of the originals. The studio believes that even without the iconic element, the updated Albion will offer exciting gameplay.
