Hytale is impressive, but Minecraft is still a favorite - developer's opinion

Minecraft and Hytale are inevitably compared: the Hypixel team, which created Hytale, worked on the most successful multiplayer server for Minecraft. From the very first trailer, the similarity was obvious.
Lead Minecraft developer Jens Bergensten tested Hytale and stated:
I wish the game was more different from Minecraft. It is very well done, but when I play, I rather want to play Minecraft. The game is still in an early stage, and modding will be important. I will definitely play it later.
Hypixel creator Simon Collins-Laflamme replied:
The fact that Jeb says that Hytale is very well done is the best praise we could get. I respect him very much, and he rarely publicly comments on other games.
Collins-Laflamme added that Hytale was not intended as a competitor to Minecraft:
This is something new, more focused on combat, exploration, and fantasy. In the coming years, you will see a serious difference between Minecraft and Hytale.
