New leaks confirm that a port of Red Dead Redemption 2 to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S is in development. Insider Kiwi Talkz noted that the project exists, but the release may not happen soon.
Rockstar is an extremely closed structure, so if I say too much, the company will easily identify the source of information. I say this out of pure courtesy to the fans, so you know: the dream is still alive and this project will come out someday – don't lose hope.
If I had to guess based on the information I have, I think the release was originally planned much earlier, but changes in the GTA VI schedule caused a serious delay. Personally, I don't expect the RDR2 version to be released until the end of 2027. Primarily because releasing RDR2 now would cut into sales of RDR1, which was recently released, and with the release of GTA VI later this year, the company wants "six" to dominate for at least a year before they start considering releasing the next-gen RDR2.
If the information is correct, fans will have to be patient. For now, Rockstar's focus is on GTA VI and current projects.
