Orbitals - the first game confirmed for Nintendo Direct 2026
While the official date for Nintendo's February showcase is still unknown, information has already surfaced about the first game to be presented.
This is about Orbitals — an intergalactic adventure in a world inspired by classic retro anime. A leak from the developers confirms that the official announcement will take place at the upcoming Direct.
The game is designed for two-player co-op: Maki and Omura must save their home planet from the destructive force of a supernatural cosmic storm. Navigating uncharted areas requires close cooperation between both players. By working together, the heroes will be able to stop the threat.
Orbitals features a unique aesthetic that references Japanese animation from past decades, and is reminiscent of Split Fiction and It Takes Two from Hazelight.
The game is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.
