A new game about Geralt's adventures, Reigns: The Witcher, was recently announced. However, it is being developed by Nerial, not CD Projekt RED. The publisher is Devolver Digital.
Nevertheless, CDPR specialists are still monitoring the project. In a conversation with GamesRadar+, the developers explained how the work on Reigns: The Witcher is structured — the project is viewed as a "fan fiction simulator."
Reigns: The Witcher writer Oscar Harrington-Shaw and design director François Alliot explained that specialists from CDPR "have been incredibly generous in giving their time [to our team]":
Every scenario that the player encounters in [Reigns: The Witcher] has been read by multiple lore keepers, writers, and producers on their side to ensure that all content is consistent with the tone and mythology of "The Witcher" universe.
It was specifically clarified that there will be no hordes of zombie witchers in Reigns: The Witcher — this was considered an overkill.
