This year, thanks to the board game "Fins," Russian-speaking fans of the "Wingspan" series will be able to discover and explore the diversity of the underwater world, get acquainted with various marine creatures, and raise fry from eggs.
The publisher "Lavka Igr" has kept its promise and opened pre-orders for the board game "Fins" (Finspan), designed for 1–5 players and rated 7.7 out of 10 on BoardGameGeek. It is currently available for 3,990 rubles.
Thanks to this project, players will be able to become seasoned oceanologists. Over the course of four rounds, they will study various species of fish and dive to the ocean floor, receiving a variety of rewards for doing so.
Dive sites will help players expand their fish collection, discover places of freshly laid eggs, and raise fry from eggs in order to gather them into schools.
The winner is the one who earns the most victory points for collected fish, eggs, fry, schools, and completed objectives.
The gameplay of "Fins" largely resembles "Wingspan": gamers play cards and activate rows of cards already in play. However, there are three key differences:
- Instead of five types of resources and eggs, here there are eggs and fry, which perform the functions of both eggs and resources;
- Played cards are placed not in order from left to right, as in "Wingspan," but in specific positions "mixed together";
- Rows are activated not from right to left, starting with the last played card, but from top to bottom, starting with the top card (and it does not matter when it was played).
The board game "Fins" will most likely appear in stock in the summer of 2026.
