While the game we are creating fully preserves the spirit of Lionhead's classic trilogy, Fable is a new beginning for the franchise and is not a continuation of the original games.
Previously, many believed the project would become Fable 4, but the game does not continue the plot of Fable 3 and does not insert events between the previous games. Albion poorly remembers its own history, so the new Fable could have filled in the gaps, but the developers decided to take a different path.
The FAQ also confirms the absence of multiplayer: Fable will be a fully single-player game. Previously, Fable 2 and 3 featured a multiplayer mode with the ability to join at any time. It was implemented awkwardly, as the second player could not make a significant contribution, so it was perceived as a secondary element.
