New gameplay footage for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV was recently unveiled. This time, the focus was on demonstrating gameplay from the Ork campaign.
The Orks have the "Waaagh!" mechanic, which in Dawn of War IV works like an energy meter — it fills depending on the number of Orks on the battlefield and the number of defeated enemies:
What makes Waaagh! especially interesting is the ability to activate it at the right moment to give your troops a decisive advantage. Once activated, every combat unit enters a kind of berserk state — becoming more inspired and significantly stronger.
The developers note that the Orks level up faster and gain "Veterancy" significantly faster than other factions:
This means they unlock new weapon types, upgrades, and can even increase squad sizes earlier — which means their firepower grows faster.
