Recently, Eskay summed up the results of her Arc Raiders journey. She spent two months on the game to break into the top ranks — to earn the "Cantina Legend" rank (Cantina Legend).
To achieve this goal, Eskay spent around 300 hours, and she spent another month editing a video about her adventures.
To reach "Cantina Legend," she had to regularly increase her rank by completing weekly challenges. At the same time, this became more difficult with each passing week, since matchmaking in the ranked leaderboard looked for similarly skilled players who were also actively climbing the ranks (with "double" promotion).
Eskay pointed out that 200-300 hours is not actually that much — some people spent far more time in Arc Raiders:
You thought I was grinding? I only have 250 hours. And these guys have 500, if not the full 600. And, most frustratingly of all, they just play better than me... no matter how much I hate to admit it.
In the video's description, Eskay noted:
I spent two months of my life chasing the rarest achievement in Arc Raiders. My squad made it into the world's top 100. Was it worth it? Not really.
In her opinion, the reward is not particularly impressive, and she sacrificed a lot for it:
Honestly, it is really hard for me to view this experience [of achieving "Cantina Legend"] in a positive light. Essentially, I temporarily ruined my life for Arc Raiders challenges. I put off a ton of things. I missed hangouts with friends who only visit once a year. I skipped dinners. I stopped going to the gym. I neglected my work. I almost missed a trip to Paris. And for what? For a skin?
