The update's success exceeded the developers' expectations.
Recently, co-op was added to No Rest for the Wicked, a discount was introduced, and a free access promotion was held. This helped the developers attract increased attention to the project.
Moon Studios boss Thomas Mahler shared on social media: some ARPG metrics:
Just a couple of weeks ago, we were only getting ready to launch the No Rest for the Wicked Together update, and I was already mentally preparing for the worst — because launching multiplayer without issues is almost impossible. But then the beta happened, and people reacted extremely positively — and the release literally stunned us with its success. I never would have thought that we would take first place on the Steam chart, surpassing even games like Arc Raiders and many others.
The developer noted that the game is selling so well that one day’s revenue covers more than a month of studio operations:
Right now, more people are playing Wicked than Elden Ring, Path of Exile 2, and Diablo IV. o_O Yesterday we sold another 50 thousand copies again! We are now earning more per day than it costs to maintain our small studio for an entire month! Huge thanks to our community — to those who have been with us from the very beginning, who have been sharing feedback all this time and, like us, want Wicked to become that ideal ARPG we have all dreamed of! We are making this game for YOU, and we fully understand how much effort and support you have invested!
The creators of No Rest for the Wicked are now preparing the next update and working on a duel mode.
