Recently, GOG announced a new promotional campaign. The store has begun a free giveaway of the classic Alone in the Dark trilogy.
The giveaway was timed to GOG's achievements in its old game preservation program — 267 games were added to the service and 1,461 improvements were made, including compatibility fixes and content restoration:
Game preservation does not happen on its own. It is only possible because people care about the games themselves, their history, and their future. The giveaway of the Alone in the Dark trilogy on GOG will last until February 5, 2026.
