At the beginning of February, King's Bounty: The Legend was back in the spotlight. A beta patch was released for the game.
The developers heard the community's request to modernize the game and began working on it, but added a caveat — the project is no longer young:
There are serious technical limitations, and sometimes, to make noticeable improvements, it takes a lot of prayers, magic, and... luck. Nevertheless, within these limitations, we want to do everything possible to modernize the game.
Those who join the \"update_beta\" branch in the game's properties on Steam will be able to evaluate the following improvements to King's Bounty: The Legend:
- Removal of black side bars when playing at 16:9 resolutions. Modern standards such as 1920×1080 are now fully supported.
- Improved interface readability: the sizes of a number of elements and fonts have been increased. Which, as the developers note, is \"especially pleasant for the eyes on large screens.\"
- Double the maximum camera zoom-out distance: \"More battlefield, more context. The more, the better!\"
The developers will monitor how this version of King's Bounty: The Legend performs on different PCs and the community's reaction. Based on this, a decision will be made on which direction to move in next.
